From the Artist I have always had a great appreciation for the Blue Ridge Mountains. I grew up in the Asheville area and am always exploring the outdoors. The best days, in my opinion, are spent hiking up to a ridge top to see what the other side of the mountain has to offer.
In the 1980’s I was busy with my career and as a creative outlet I learned the many steps and techniques necessary to build stained glass windows. Years later I realized that I could make my own designs and patterns of mountain landscapes to represent the beauty and comfort I find in nature. I enjoy choosing my own glass, and creating metal overlays to accent the forces of time and nature, and at the same time depict the resilience and shelter of our mountains. In viewing my work I want it to be as if you were looking through the lens of your favorite camera. I like to think that I can bring nature to you through stained glass.
For the past 17 years, I have built thousands of stained glass landscape panels. My work encompasses the views found from all the wonderful hikes and overlooks throughout western North Carolina. I am blessed and grateful for the opportunity to use my skills as a stained glass artist to portray the beautiful mountains and valleys I am fortunate to be surrounded by.
I was comissioned to create Memorial installations in the Great Room of the CarePartners Solace Center and the SECU Cancer Center, both located in Asheville, NC
